Let's see here. The weather outside has been mucky, mucky, mucky- overcast and gray. Is it going to rain? Snow? Sunshine? Who knows. I mean, the last option (SUNSHINE!) seems impossible, but it is Colorado, after all. Don't like the weather? Wait five minutes and it'll change.
Along with that, one of the things I will never get tired of buying is jackets. We have an optimal, year-round use for jackets here in the "ruddy" state- even as the highs tip near the upper 90's in the summer, it always cools down enough at night to wear at least a light hoodie is needed. I always need a jacket.
A few of you following me on Twitter saw that I was lamenting over the Nanette Lepore Perfect Girl tweed jacket while I was in Vegas. Indeed- that jacket is fa-reaking perfect. I tried it on at the boutique in the Forum Shops, pranced around for about 15 seconds, sighed to myself, and...hung it back up. SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR, I know- I hung it back up, you guys. With shakey hands.
And then I walked out of the store. I'll come back for it, I told myself. It'll be okay.
Except I didn't.
I instead decided to splurge on a trench. The issue with the Nanette Lepore jacket wasn't that there was something wrong with it- it was just that I already have 230498732987 things exactly like it in my closet. Knock the price down $200 and I would have been more inclined; but to spend $500 smackaroos on something I already-kinda-sorta-have? Call me crazy, but I just couldn't do it.
So I went for a (gulp) Juicy Couture trench instead. Hear me out- I know I should get some sort of fashion card yanked away from me for picking Juicy Couture over Nanette. I KNOW, YOU GUYS. I KNOW. I mulled over it with an overwhelming sense of dread the entire time I was standing in line at that damn store, waiting to buy the damn thing, taking in the damn pinks and purples and heart shapes and velour and tweens and security guy (huh?) and loud music all crammed into the Juicy Couture outlet at the Vegas Premiere Outlets. What the heck are you doing here, girl? I kept thinking to myself.
But....but. I've wanted the Juicy Couture trench for awhile. It's something that seems to come back, in some shape or form, every single season; the ruffles are feminine without being obscene, and I have an odd lack of trench coats in my little jacket collection. Plus? It was half the price of the Nanette Lepore jacket.
So- done and done. And now that I'm in the comfort of my own home and out of that nightmare of a store, I know I made the right choice:
