So I received the "The Swordsmith top" from Modcloth last week, and I am happy to say that it reminds me just enough of the Anthropologie Fei Polaire Vest that I am tickled pink. Tickled. Pink. Pink readers, pink! Or, um...plaid. Tickled plaid?
I had wanted the pretty little plaid thing from Fei, you see- so bad, so bad, so bad. But by the time I realized how badly I wanted it, POOF!
It was gone.
Thankfully Modcloth has saved the day. This vest from Aryn K is a great dupe, and dare I say that I actually like the color of it better than the Fei vest? Personal opinion, of course- but I'm always happier to go with warmer-toned things versus cooler-toned things, just so I don't look like a walking zombie and scare all the little children. No biggie.
The Aryn K top is a very pretty top; it has the same lovely asymmetrical peplum hem as the Fei vest and it is nicely lined so it's not see-through. It's quite fitted and runs on the small size- I am actually wearing a size "small" in it, and it fits perfectly- but keep in mind that I typically take an xx-small or x-small in tops. Bustier girls will also like this top, as the pleating around the bodice leaves plenty of room for your boogies. And for those of us without? The pleating makes us look like we actually have 'em. Yippee!
All in all, it's a gorgeous top that is well worth its $67 price tag (half the price of the Fei top!) and I think it will transition beautifully into spring and summer.
