Happy Monday Part II (And Some Pictures Of Some...Kind Of Pretties?)

So a few of you might not find this very exciting, but occasionally a polite reader (or two hundred) will request something completely out of the ordinary and bizarre- as in...come on...what does the rest of your house look like, Chloe?

I wish I could just lie and say I live in my closet and my main floor sitting room and THAT is THAT. But it's not true.

So! I was digging around...and I found old pictures I took last year of our house decorated for Christmas. Which is great, because I am not decorating for Christmas this year. I just don't have it in me after everything that has gone on over the past 12-months (yes, I officially haz a sad this year, leavemealone), and we're not doing Christmas here anyway, so I decided to skip out on it all together. But holiday decorations always make me happy, and so this entire post is a win-win. You guys get to see some more of my house, I get to bask in the glow of a few badly taken photos (I had my Rebel back then, not my 5D), and we're all happy.

But a few more words before we get started here- these are the 'pre-remodel' pictures you're seeing. I was hoping I would have 'after-remodel' pictures by now, but alas no such luck. That's okay. Perhaps by this time next year, hm?

I always joke that Stevie sucked the "interior design" genes away from me during the short time we shared together in the womb, but it's pretty much true. It's like my dad noted over Thanksgiving, as I lamented that my idea of a huge re-model is buying new throw pillows while Stevie repaints her house a new color every weekend- "Yeah, but you probably look at Stevie and think she could dress better." Ha ha ha, touche dad, touche.

(Okay, so to clarify- Stevie dresses FINE, but doesn't have nearly the affinity as I do for fashion. She spends her money on new couches every month, I spend mine on dresses I will never wear. And the world goes round, and round, and round...and round...)

That being said- the townhome that Husband and I have has a fantastic structure to it- it's 3 bedrooms (one for each chihuahua), 3 baths, 3 stories (we really like the number 3 here, and that's the story I'm stickin' to to get another chihuahua) and a touch over finished 3,000 square feet. It's too big for us, really, but that's okay- we love the layout and (most of) our neighbors and the neighborhood. It's home to us, and a place we can see ourselves staying in for quite some time.

Unfortunately it's also about 30 years old, and in dire need of the typical updates and tender-loving-care that comes with a home that is beginning to age. We have great plans for this place in the future, and I can't wait to get started to make it more "ours" with Husband. And Husband has told me he can't wait to install a colorful light show set to music and a waterfall in our master bath, and an elevator because sometimes it gets tiring walking up and down our several flights of stairs.. See? Big plans. Huge.

(We just haven't gotten around to those plans quite yet. Really, I'm just going to fly Stevie out here, throw money at her, and say, "HAVE IT AT SISTAH!" and it's going to be awesome, I am sure.)

So! Here's most of my home. I realized after editing these that I don't have any pictures of the bathrooms (not important) and also no pictures of our master bedroom...but you get the idea:

Main floor sitting room. I often pose in front of that coffee table, mmhm. Also- can you spot the chihuahua(s)?

THE TREE!

Stockings, yay.

Husband hiding from me in the office.
(I also have huuuge plans for the office- baby grand piano would totally fit there perfectly AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY HUSBAND, IT WOULD.)

Looking down at the sitting area from the landing going up to the top floor.

Main floor guest bedroom. The walls are a really pretty purple color- hard to tell in these photos.

Fake candles are awesome. Right, Stevie? Right??

This sign is hung on the way down to the lower rec-room/living room. I loves it- and it's one of the first thing Husband and I bought together for the home!

My Charlie Brown Christmas tree, of course.

The bar. We have wine racks on both sides that see a little bit more action.

Fireplace in the lower level, and sadly the only one we know how to work. Hee hee.

Looking at the pool table/bar. There's a big TV right behind where I am standing, hence the "rec room".

More fake candles and more awesomeness. I think I got them at Walgreens. Bask in the awesomeness, Stevie, bask!

With the lights on. The mirror sconces are from Pier One, I snagged them on clearance for $3 each a few years back.

Guest bedroom in the lower level (and where my Pier One candle wall sconces of awesomeness are located.)

A mirror we bought from Pier One right after we got married- we love the unique shape of it. Also look! I'M BLONDE!

The kitchen.

Another shot of the kitchen. The kitchen table is right behind where I'm standing, use your imagination here.

HI HUSBAND!

Wait, wait. Again. HI HUSBAND!

Wait, wait, wait. Oh. No more HI HUSBAND, he's tired of that game. Coincidentally, this look is very similar to the "STARE OF DEATH" that he gives me when I drag him shopping with me, except the look in this picture is THE STARE OF DEATH mixed with the look he gives me when I take pictures of him eating food. I know, right?

One last shot of our tree.

So, there you have it! Happy Monday, woohoo. ♥

Likes fashion, broccoli, ice cream, clarifying that she does not eat ice cream with her broccoli as to not cause worldwide panic, hoarding beauty products & pretty shoes, tickle fights with her husband (he would like to clarify that he does not like them back, OKAY?), anything covered in sprinkles, any alcoholic beverage made with Tang, live music, clicking the camera, sarcasm fonts, vases stuffed full of pretty flowers, and laughing hard until her belly hurts. Wants an adventurous life, lots of puppies, to never obtusely wander around with her fly down, and to be an iconic Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress with a bright, festive print when she grows up.
