old enough to know better30 - Location: The Wild, Wild West...of Colorado
- Sign: Libra, if it means anything.
- Status: Married
- Kids: We'd rather not.
- Favorite Color: I'd say taupe, but then you'd all judge me. Plaid! Taupe plaid.
- Favorite Food: Italian, healthy stuff, Dior lip glosses.
- What You Might Not Know About Me: I'm an identical twin, I was born & raised in South Dakota (21 years!), and I've played harp at Carnegie Hall, oh snap.

I believe in good food, bad food, pretty clothes, ugly clothes, interesting shoes, and an occasional-but-perfectly-placed swear word (I like imperfectly-placed swear words, too). This blog is my little spot to be happy, sad, superficial, vain, cranky, frustrated, obnoxious, and alive- and to revel in it all. I don't take myself very seriously here, and neither should you.
I'm also married to this hot tamale, spicy, superstar of a boy:
And he makes reeeeally good french toast. The end. ♥

Chloe, Colorful Colorado. 5'8" (only) when teetering in her highest 6 inch Miu Miu platform heels. Likes fashion, broccoli, ice cream, clarifying that she does not eat ice cream with her broccoli as to not cause worldwide panic, hoarding beauty products & pretty shoes, tickle fights with her husband (he would like to clarify that he does not like them back, OKAY?), anything covered in sprinkles, any alcoholic beverage made with Tang, live music, clicking the camera, sarcasm fonts, vases stuffed full of pretty flowers, and laughing hard until her belly hurts. Wants an adventurous life, lots of puppies, to never obtusely wander around with her fly down, and to be an iconic Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress with a bright, festive print when she grows up. This is where she bravely documents it all. (
Hi Chloe,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! One of my friends says she loves me because I can drop an f-bomb when an f-bomb needs to be dropped and that is so fabulous about you too!
I had a question...do you like your Foley + Corinna Jet Set Jr.? I have been eyeing that bag for awhile (haven't seen it in person here in good old Tennessee!) and saw a post on the blog where you were carring one. Would love to know if you love it!
Thanks!
Hi there! I love it, but it's HUGE. A "junior" it is not, in spite of the name. I could easily fit a laptop (or five?) in there. The leather is good. It's not as smooshy as a Rebecca Minkoff (which IMO makes the smooshiest leather everrr) but it's not stiff either. It's a nice bag, and great if you have tons of stuff to carry around! Write back if you have any more questions. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Chloe,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and its current changes. I noticed one of your fav books is The Great Gatsby, so I thought you would appreciate a recommendation for Tender is the Night, also by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I read it a few months ago and it was amazing. You are kind of my verbal/fashion soul mate so I figure you may dig on the book as well.
xoxoxox.
I just found your blog thru experiments in a galley kitchen-I too have SLE and Sjogren's-never much meet other like me! I shall have to add you to my google reader-I am in the process of starting my own blog-I look forward to going thru yours and reading about you. :D

Your blog is great. It has everything; charm, laughter anger and the occasional f*** bomb which I totally support. My best friend, Linda, of 18 yrs, was also diagnosed with an autoimmune illness 5yrs ago. She went into the hospital, they put her into a coma and I was there every day and was sure that she was going to die. I was pissed at God and heartbroken for her three beautiful children. She as Wegeners Granulomatosis. She is alive and well today; she of course still struggles with so many physical issues and she has me for the emotional and mental issues; though I don't know if thats good or bad. The point is she is surviving it and so will you!! You already have the great attitude, a great husband and at least one great friend. Your already set up for success!! Keep on blogging!!!
ReplyDeleteall that thing you are going on with your disease made you the person you really are.and the thing that you are sharing it with us shows that you are an everyday hero!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have a bio page! Yay, for knowing a leetle more about one of my favorite bloggers!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your closet, chihuahuas, and struggles with all of us--you make me laugh, girl.
ps (regina spektor's new album? holy fucking AWESOME.)
Wow! I love your blog. I too am a sufferer of an autoimmune disease. I think it is wonderful that you take the time to blog as an outlet, as do I.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous and your writing is wonderful!
I saw a comment of yours here: http://seaofshoes.typepad.com on Jane's blog about Paris! I live in Paris and believe I have Celiac Disease, also an autoimmune disease (and a lot of people with Celiac have Sjogren's, too). I write "believe" as I am without healthcare/insurance right now and can't check on it for certain, but going gluten, yeast, and sugar free has made a *radical* difference in my life!
ReplyDeleteAnother commonality is that I am from Denver! I moved there when I was six and mostly lived in Colorado since then (with a total of four years of my adult life in China, Tulsa, OK, and Dallas, TX). I moved to Paris to be with my boyfriend 16 months ago. Anyways, I was reading all about Paris Fashion Week this week and through the trail of blogs I was reading I came across Sea of Shoes and then read how much you like Paris. :) I came to your blog, love it, and I wanted to pop on to say I can relate to using a blog to help with illness, and mine is here: http://analienparisienne.wordpress.com/
Today I am debating whether to go over to the Tulieries Garden to see if I can see anyone showing up for the Elie Saab show. It's in two hours... I'm also doing laundry, haha. So I don't know if I will make it. We'll see...
Anyway, you have a really fun blog, keep up the great work & here's to health and happiness for you! :)
Hi! I just stumbled upon this blog and want to say HI! and I love your outfits. If I could afford what you have on I'd totally copy you! :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I really enjoyed reading through your post this evening.
Chloe, I just wanted to let you know how much I love your blog. It's been really inspiring for me in the last few months.
ReplyDeleteNot to get awkwardly personal, but my boyfriend of 4 years recently left, my lupus/rheumatoid arthritis has of course been flaring, and I've been feeling, well...how you'd expect! Things have been getting better, though, and I'm realizing now that I want to put more work into taking care of myself. I've been wearing the same clothes for years now, and they fit nicely and I look good (is that weird to say?), but I haven't been really enjoying what I wear--so I'm distracting myself from the hideousness of recent events by cooking + friends + family + rebuilding my closet almost entirely from scratch. I've been reading your archives for ideas, and your posts have been SO helpful.
If you are looking for ideas, I'd love to read a piece on foundation pieces for someone taking on a project like mine. But you're already been a huge help (and I love the introduction of Spy It Buy It!), and I just wanted to thank you. It's nice to be able to learn by your example.
I am new to blogging, reading blogs, etc. But yours is BEAUTIFUL. And new to judging beauty, I am not ;) Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe, I only recently started reading, and I love it! Way to go, girl! After reading your "about me" page, I think that I'm your doppelganger. I know, that is totally freaky. But . . . our similarities are endless, and only start with Libra, INFP, and Young MC!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for awhile now....I was just in Denver over the holiday and I have to say, I forgot how DRY it is there... can you say lotion and lip balm and drinking water every 30 mins? I do not think I have read any skin care tips on your blog, but maybe you are just concentrating on fashion....
ReplyDeletewow i just found your blog! i love it!
ReplyDeletejust wanted to say thank you so much for your kind vote on the glamourai in the alice in wonderland competition!
my actual blog is www.misswayfarer.com - its new!
hope you like it! thanks again!
xx
I just stumbled upon your blog, and I must say, you are an absolutely brilliant writer. I have been a writer my whole life as well, and I admire others who have the insatiable need to turn their thoughts and feelings into beautiful words. Or funny words. or just words ;) I also love fashion, so it is nice to be able to combine passions. I cannot wait to read more of your blog! I have a feeling I am going to be an avid follower of yours.
ReplyDeleteNoelle
You are hilarious. I just recently discovered your blog and I read the post about "Gill Ribbons" signing your husband's book. Love it. I especially love your outfits. You are a very stylish girl. I can't wait to see more posts!
ReplyDeleteAnd hey! I live near Denver too!
Hi Chloe! I just discovered your blog and you are both delightful and hilarious and of course awesomely fashionable!
ReplyDeleteHowever, the real reason I am compelled to post is that you are the first person I've come across who loves eye wrinkles. Like your husband, my boyfriend also has the cutest eye wrinkles that magically appear when he laughs and smiles! They are my favorite part of his face and I've tried to photograph them but always end up with a blur. Hee! So - just had to share this with you - and with him (sent him a link so he won't think I'm the only crazy eye wrinkle loving lady.)
Thanks for all your work keeping up this blog - can't imagine how much time it must take.
Marisa :"-) (those are eye wrinkles)
Hi! Just wanted to say I recently discovered your blog, and might be in love. It's great to see a fabulously stylish petite lady like myself! I find it challenging to draw inspiration, when the majority of that inspiration is on 5'10 models. Being 5'0, it's great to be able to see how you own your style, and wear the clothes without the clothes wearing you!
ReplyDeleteHey, Chloe! I've been reading your blog for a few weeks now and decided to follow you. Love your fashion style and photos!!! I look forward to reading more about you! :)
ReplyDeleteHello Chloe!
ReplyDeleteI just want to comment that I find your site so refreshing and almost zen-like. Your writing skills are absolutely amazing and hilarious. The photography is picturesque and you have the cutest smile. Kind of goes upward to the side like one of my girlfriends. I am a Chicago girl with lots of fashion sense (in the Wedding biz currently) but for the last few years have lived in Minnesota don't cha know?!
Keep up the phenomenal blogging!

I absolutely LOVE your blog!!
ReplyDeleteI have a blog of my own and I featured you today.

ReplyDeleteHi Filmwriter7- I'll definitely check it out! Thanks a bunch! XO.
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe, I love your blog. I think you have a great sense of humor and style. I have a question for you. Have you ever thought of having a blog sale of the clothes that you no longer wear? Please please please please consider it...
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe, I love your blog. I think you have a great sense of humor and, of course, STYLE. I have a question for you. Have you ever thought of having a blog sale of your clothes?
ReplyDeletehi Chloe!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for some time now. I know you are a hat lover, maybe not by choice, but I am looking for a sun hat for vacation and wondered if you had any good online site recommendations. Other than the obvious heavy hitters (nordstrom, saks, NM, bloomies) or maybe a favorite designer?
Thanks!
Hi Chloe,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, you have a great sense of humor and style.
I'm from Brasil.
Success for you!
Hi Chloe,
ReplyDeleteI really love your blog and all the great deals you have. Please check my blog, it is coming in stages. any comments or suggestions would help me greatly.
THANKS!!!
Hi Chloe! I've been following your blog for awhile, partly due to your amazing style but partly because I also have Lupus. I just had a month-long hospitalization and am trying to get myself looking cute again (a paper bag seems to be the best option at this point). I noticed your hair is looking awesome recently! Are you doing anything special or just feeling well right now? You look great, so I hope things are going good for your health! Jade
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe, I've been following your blog for awhile... partly because of your amazing style, but also because I have Lupus. I just got back from a month-long hospitalization and am trying to get myself looking cute again (the hair loss and moonface make me crazy!). I just wanted to say that I noticed your hair is looking awesome lately! Are you doing anything special to help it along or are you just feeling well lately? You look fabulous so I hope you're enjoying a bout of good health! Jade
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a couple of weeks but never could see the pictures because of my work computer. I just went back through your posts and I love them! You're absolutely stunning and your outfits are to die for. Thanks for such a wonderful/entertaining blog :)
Yes I am just a little bit late to say this and even though I have not read the other comments yet I am glad to say that those pictures of you jumping are AMAZING! Mostly because of how your dress flows, the contrast in light and dark, and how you got a picture of yourself JUMPING! Coolio!
ReplyDeleteWell better go just wanted to say the picture is amazing and thanks! For making my day soooo much better with your hummur, and your style!
Love,
Quincy
:):P ;D
hey chloe, I love you blog great stuff!! also lov your sense of humor, also lov the name and i also live in colorado!! lots in common check out my blog i just began it and would lov your input! thanks http://chloesnacks.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across your blog recently, and I absolutely adore your sense of fashion. But, girl, I so understand the whole feeling too crappy to get out of bed thing. I don't have Lupus, but I have hypothyroidism and lord knows what else, and there are days and weeks when I just can't move or put on my makeup or do much of anything without being exhausted. So, dammit, if you can make yourself get up and get pretty, I'm sure as hell going to try to, too!
ReplyDeletejust found your blog and i love all of your OOTD's!!! Yay for growing up in the Midwest too!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to have found your amazing blog! First of all, I loved the Argan Oil suggestion since I also have dry skin. But I completely relate because I have Lupus too! I'm a holistic nutritionist and have managed to control my symptoms through proper diet, exercise, and supplements. I say, "F you!" to Lupus too! :) Your style is amazing, by the way.

ReplyDeleteHello Chloe, I was introduced to your blog today by a darling co worker named Lara. It too have Lupus. I was diagnosed on my 30th birthday. Happy Birthday to me, a gift I wou;ld have done without. Today at 50 and a chemical cocktail of medications, I still love great fashion but struggle with how to keep my closet organized with the varying range of sizes. I am 5"1" and barely 90 pounds..... when shopping I struggle with how to remain on trend and current but age relevent. I deplore douty women. Suggestions please of how to dress my petite slender body.
